Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an ancient form of natural healing that originates from natural philosophies that have developed over approximately 3000 years of theory, clinical trials and observation.
There are two forms of acupuncture practice one is Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, the other is Five Element Acupuncture. The aim of acupuncture treatment is to restore a sense of balance in health by manipulating (the bodies essential energy) through the use of fine needles. This energy or Qi, circulates throughout the body in a network of channels or meridians connecting yin and yang organs, holding the body in balance. The acupuncturist can stimulate the bodies own healing process to restore its natural balance.
As a therapy, it is recognised by the World Health Organisation in the treatment of acute and chronic, internal and external disorders.
The range of conditions treated includes both physical and emotional problems such as arthritis, migraine, allergies, stress, depression, hormonal problems, high/low blood pressure, and insomnia.
The Acupuncture needles used are very fine and are designed to pass through the skin with little or no pain. When it reaches the acu-point, the feeling varies from a tingling sensation to a warm radiating feeling. During the treatment the patient may feel very relaxed and actually fall asleep.
